We refer to the App and Site collectively as the "Services. We respect and take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. The Application is a math game for both Android and iOS phones.

It also covers our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting and disclosing that information. This Policy applies to data collected: (i) by Matchup through the Site or App, and (ii) in email, text or other electronic messages between you and us as a result of using App. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected offline, by any third party or through our affiliate sites. Information We Collect

When you use our Services, we receive data from which we collect certain information about how you use and interact with our Services, including;

  1. User Account:When registering a Matchup user account we collect the following Personal Data: (1) your name, (2) email address, (3) year of birth (only for the purpose of setting the level of difficulty in the game). Your user account is protected by a password that is provided by you.
  2. Device information: We collect information about your device such as your hard drive model, operating system version, unique device identifier, mobile data usage and IP address.
  3. Daily Log: When you use our Services or access information we provide, we will automatically collect certain information, saving it to the daily logs on our servers. This type of information collection is usually triggered by events like crashes, system activities, changes in hardware settings and login requests.
  4. Unique App Serial Number: Certain Services include unique app serial numbers. When you install or uninstall one of these Services or when the Service communicates with us like in the event of a software update, the system will send us the serial number and installation information such as your operating system type and the app version number.
  5. IP ADDRESS: When you download and use our Services, we do not collect your Internet Protocol ("IP") address. However, please note that we use Admob which is a mobile advertising network that helps app developers monetize and promote their mobile and tablet apps with ads. Admob is owned by Google. Admob may collect your (“IP”) address so we encourage anyone who uses are services to read the Google/Admob privacy policy here:
  6. COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS: A “cookie” is a piece of text that is placed on your computer's hard drive. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to a Service. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about web page traffic and tailor App to customer needs. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. However, you can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. Note, this may prevent you from taking full advantage of the App and their features.
  7. ANALYTICS COOKIES: We use web analytic app to understand how people use our App, as well as keep our App relevant, easy to use and up-to-date. Cookies allow web analytic app to recognize your browser or device, but do not contain Personal Information.
  8. LOCATION INFORMATION: This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.

Consent as a Basis for Processing

In some cases, we will ask for your consent to access your Contacts. Contact details will be uploaded and stored on the server for the purpose of sending SMS invites and challenge request notifications when the server has verified which contacts either have downloaded the app or those who have not yet installed the app. You may indicate your consent in a number of ways, including, as permitted by law, clicking ‘Okay’ button (or equivalent action) to indicate your consent when (i) providing us with your Personal Data through our Services (ii) registering or creating an account with us. We may request your consent for a number of activities including:

  1. Accessing Contacts to Invite Users

    We may request your consent to access your Contacts. This allows you to seamlessly invite people to download the app. Contact details will be uploaded and stored on the server for the purpose of sending an SMS invite and then to verify the contact when the invite is accepted.

  2. Challenge Them in Multiplayer

    We also may request your consent to access your Contacts so that those individuals who have also downloaded the Matchup Math app can be sent a challenge request notification when you wish to play a game in multiplayer mode.


Generally speaking, our mobile application and website are not intended for children under the age of 13 (and those under the age of 16 years old who reside in the UK or European Countries) (collectively, “Children”). Children are not permitted to use our Services, and we do not knowingly collect, store or use any personal information from Children.

Though our Services do not target Children as the primary user, we do collect age information during the sign up process to establish a baseline for the starting level of difficulty for the Matchup Math game. In the event that a user identifies himself or herself as a child under the age of 13 during the sign up process via our age-gate, we will terminate the effort to create an account.

If we learn that we have inadvertently gathered personal information from a Child, we will take reasonable measures to promptly remove that information from our records.

Opt-out of all information collection by uninstalling the Application: You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. Our provision of a link to a third party website is not in itself an endorsement of that third party or its security policies. We exercise no control over websites that belong to our advertising partners or third parties, which may place their own cookies on your device or solicit personal information from you. When you leave our Services to visit an external website, you submit to the external website’s privacy policy, which we encourage you to read fully. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of third party websites and their use of information will be in accordance with their own privacy policies. Your use of a third party website is at your own risk and we cannot be held liable from any damages, costs, fees or penalties arising or resulting from your use of third party sites.

Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, through the App are serviced by a third-party, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our App. The information they collect may be associated with your Personal Information or they may collect information, including Personal Information, about your online activities over time and across different app. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content. If you remove information that you posted to the Service, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of the Service, or if other users have copied or saved that information. Matchup may also retain information after you delete your account if required by law; such information is needed for investigation purposes or for archival purposes.

How We Secure Personal Information

We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to secure Personal Information. When you provide Personal Information we do our best to ensure it’s encrypted via SSL. However, none of these are fail-proof, and we ask for your cooperation in ensuring your information stays safe. Please note we may discard any information: (i) after your account has been cancelled or terminated, (ii) upon your request; or (iii) any time in our sole discretion, whichever occurs earlier.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain User provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate. Geographic Restrictions, Applicable Law

The App may only be accessed within the USA and Canada. Any claim relating to the App shall be governed by the internal laws of the State of California without reference to its choice of law provisions, and shall be resolved solely through proceedings held within the State of California.

Matchup has the discretion to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the Personal Information we collect. Privacy Rights for California, North Dakota and Vermont Residents

California. A California resident may request us not to share Personal Information with a third party.
